Schlumbergera kautskyi (Horobin & McMillan) N.P. Taylor 1991

This species has been descovered quite recently and there is still some disagreement on where this plant really belongs. Some say this is a separate species while otghers claim it as being a variety of S. truncata. There are even people saying this is an intermediate form between S. truncata and S. orssichiana. This species has smaller flowers then S. truncata, while the stem segments are larger. It must be said that at this time all the plants in culture are clones from the type specimen so all cultural advice on this species is rather cultural advice on this clone then on this species. Some sources say this species is self fertile, while other sources contradict this.
